Kor-wegian is what my husband likes to call our little family – because somehow this little Korean gal ended up with a burly Norwegian! The chances of that are not too unlikely though, I did grow up in Central Minnesota, swimming in lakes, climbing trees and drinking out of garden hoses. I was born in Seoul, Korea, but raised in Sauk Centre, MN. There, my dad had a dealership and sold Ford cars and trucks, so you know where my loyalties lie when it comes to automobiles!
My husband and I both went to school in Moorhead, MN. After we graduated, we moved to the Twin Cities for a while. After searching for our first starter home, only to find houses with broken steps and shag carpets – only then to be outbid for thousands over asking price – we ended up buying our first home back in Sauk Centre from a lovely lady I always called “my adopted grandma.” She planned to move to assisted living, and it just felt like it was meant to be. This ended up being the perfect little starter home for us. It was the house we got to bring our first baby home to, and it was affordable enough to give us a good start so we could build our next home a few years later.
Nowadays, besides real estate, I am a professional photographer (yes, free professional listing photos of your house!), I run a non-paid taxi service for my three kids, and I vacuum up our English Retriever’s constantly shedding hair on a daily basis! Ha! I love it though and wouldn’t have it any other way. I also love helping prepare my kids, and other kids in our community, for their future. I really enjoy volunteering at the schools and wherever civic duty may call. I’m passionate about our Junior Achievement and West Stearns CEO programs. Both educate students about entrepreneurship, real-life work experience, and financial literacy – all things I wish I had more experience with as a kid!
